Wood Snakes is a digital-only "mini-album" by The Residents,[1][2] consisting of of eight instrumentals recorded between January and November 1994 for the soundtrack to the Discovery Channel nature documentary series Hunters: The World of Predators and Prey. It was released for free in MP3 format to subscribers of Cherry Red Records' Residents newsletter on December 7th 2024.

Compiled from a "vast collection" of "hours and hours" of supposedly long-lost recordings from the Hunters sessions which had been "sub-divided by animal species", Wood Snakes features eight outtakes "produced with snakes in mind", in honor of 2025 being the "Year of the Wood Snake" in the Chinese zodiac.[3] No album artwork was provided with the download.

In the March 29th issue of the Cherry Red newsletter, it was announced that The Residents are working on compiling "several more mini-albums" of material from the Hunters sessions;[1] a second mini-album, Seven Cats, was subsequently released in the April issue of the newsletter.[2]
