Stuck Bad is an EP by The Darkening Scale, a project by David Janssen, formerly of British avant-garde musical duo Renaldo & The Loaf. The EP features tracks which were either inspired by or remixed from the 1978 EP Duck Stab!, by Janssen's former Ralph Records stablemates The Residents.
The EP was originally released as a 320kbps MP3 download through Janssen's website in 2011; it was later issued on CD by Austrian label Klanggalerie on March 20th 2019, in a six panel digipak featuring new artwork by Poxodd.

Liner notes
Stuck Bad turned out, with hindsight, to be an important Darkening Scale project.
Duck Stab was always one of my favourite Residents' recordings, and Stuck Bad started out as an amusing diversion to make a version of Bach is Dead after hearing a Residents' reimagined version of the track and quickly grew into reworking the whole EP. The challenge was to extract useable material working only with the Duck Stab CD, with the use of additional material (mainly percussion) where appropriate. What the project gave me was the confidence to tackle Renaldo and the Loaf material in a similar way; Aerobic Dallying and Larval Dissections soon followed. What I didn't know at the time was that some of the Renaldo and the Loaf material would eventually see the light of day as part of our live performance at Klang 25.
