The Residents were not active in 1963, but several songs that the group later covered were released.

January

• The Surfaris release Wipe Out, covered by The Residents in 1974 and performed live by the group in 1976

April

• Lesley Gore releases It's My Party, covered by The Residents in 1975. Performed live by the group in 1976.

May

• James Brown and the Famous Flames release Live At The Apollo, which is cover by The Residents in its entirety in 1984.

June

• 18th: Elvis Presley releases Devil in Disguise, covered by The Residents in 1989 on The King & Eye.

August

• 23rd: The Beatles release She Loves You, which is later sampled by The Residents on "Beyond The Valley of a Day In The Life" in 1977.

November

• 22nd: The Beatles release With The Beatles, an album that features All I've Got To Do, All My Loving, and Roll Over Beethoven. All songs that The Residents later sampled.
• 29th: The Beatles release I Want to Hold Your Hand, which is sampled by The Residents on "Beyond The Valley of a Day In The Life" in 1977.
